6 Essential Good Life Tips Have you ever asked yourself what a good life really is? I can tell you it’s not the money you earn, it’s not your job title, and it’s not the house you live in, or the size of your bank account. All those “bling things” may be nice to have but they don’t make a good life all on their own. So is a good life a balanced life? If your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual world are all in order does that make a good life? What is a good life for you? Here are some tips on living a good life… 1. Make Massive Contributions To live a good life we must be productive, we must add value to the world by contributing all that are capable of. The good life is sharing your unique gifts and talents with the world in service. Now we can’t run at full speed giving 100% of ourselves all the time, so consideration must be given to resting at the right time. There is a cycle to everything, a time to sow and a time to reap. That is the law of the farm. 2. Develop Relationships Living the good life means having friends that support you no matter what. When you know you can pick up the phone and someone will drop everything to cross the country for you, then you are living a good life. Good friends will always be there for you, and when you need support you can just talk to them. They don’t have to even know what your issues are, just talking to them helps to lift you up. Living the good life is being happy, and happy people know how to nurture social relationships 3. Have Self Awareness Knowing who and what you really are at your core is living the good life. When you live a life that is aligned with your values and your core strengths, then you are living a good life. Using your strengths in service to others on a daily basis enriches your life in ways you can’t fathom. 4. Have a Spiritual Practice To live a good life we need to find our center and remain grounded. When we get away from our center and our minds start running wild then chaos ensues. Adopt a practice that slows your thoughts down, whatever that may be for you…for me meditation, journaling, and walking in nature are just the ticket. 5. Participate In Life Take the opportunities that come your way on a daily basis. Say yes to your friend’s invitations whenever possible. Engage fully and take part in everything that life has to offer by being a doer instead of a watcher. Sitting on the sidelines is not going to give you the good life, so go out there and interact with the world. Say yes to opportunities, and fill your life with joy. 6. Love Abundantly Living the good life is taking care of the people in your inner circle, these are the people who are closest to you and know you better than anyone else. Express the human virtue of love through the way you interact with your close friends and family. Take the opportunities to be with them whenever you can, they won’t be there forever. Here is a secret to success for you…”Money is earned through service rendered” There that’s pretty simple right? That means in order to get more money you must provide more service. You can tell how much service someone provides by driving down the street, the people with the big beautiful houses provide more service than the people in the little crappy houses. Another secret to success is that you must “provide more in use value than you receive in cash value” for the service you provide. Pretty much you should provide an exchange in abundance for those you serve. Wallace Wattles teaches that in his book The Science of Getting Rich I know there are so many ways of providing service, I want to share a few ways you can do this online in today’s modern and rapidly growing digital age: 1. Teach Others What You Know Maybe you do not even realize it, but there is an incredible teacher locked up inside you just waiting to burst out and share all it knows. You have gained valuable knowledge throughout your life that can help others. One simple way to provide service to others is to share your knowledge. Don’t think that you have to be a sophisticated seminar leader to teach other people, there are always opportunities to educate others about what you know. 2. Create (or Curate) Valuable Information Providing service to others in the digital world means you need to offer valuable information that is relevant to your audience. But the good news is you don’t have to create all the information yourself if you don’t want to. You can “curate” other people’s information and present it to your audience as the service you provide. We do live in the information age and information is power, but it doesn’t have to be your information. 3. Present Opportunities and Products It’s important to present opportunities that could be valuable to the people you are providing service to. You may be aware of current opportunities that could benefit your audience and you present those opportunities as a part of the service you provide. Some people may be interested in the opportunity you share, and others will not. So what, let them decide if the opportunity is right for them, its your job to share. Providing service to others means you should truly love people and want them to succeed. There are many products and services that you know about that will further educate and help others. Don’t be shy about letting people know about them, many won’t be interested but some will, it’s up to them to decide. 4. Share Transformative Stories You, or someone you know, has achieved something (or overcome a difficulty) that others also want to achieve or overcome. Maybe it was losing weight, getting through a tough divorce, training a dog, or possibly writing a best-selling book. Share your story, and the stories of others that have overcome obstacles. People will be inspired by the stories you share. 5. Recognize People’s Efforts Giving recognition is a great way to empower others, and by the Law of Attraction it comes back to you, that’s a secret of success. Give recognition to others for what they have already accomplished, or for the action they are now taking. Right now I want to commend you because you are reading this article. This article is about providing service and you care enough about others to read this far. So I want to acknowledge you for that. 6. Give and Share Gifts Now this may seem tricky and appear like you want to “buy” peoples’ favor. But that is not what this is about. In the intro I said provide more in use value than the cash value you receive. This is a spiritual law of money. If you have been an email subscriber of mine for a while you know I share many gifts that other people make available to you.
“Success Leaves Clues”, I am sure you have heard this before… And it is true; there are very specific things that successful people do to create their success. The good news is that we can observe and model the steps to success taken by others. We each have to use our own discernment and adjust the available success principles to suit our own way of life. Today lets focus on the following four steps to success: 1. Focus On Developing Courage To be successful you must elimination fear, this means that you have to be courageous. For you to eliminate fear you cannot focus on “removing” fear, because what you focus on magnifies. What you need to do is focus on developing courage by taking bold steps that take you beyond your current capacity, and move you into the realm of the unknown. In a nutshell you must increase the size of your comfort zone, because the old saying is true…your income zone equals your comfort zone 2. Believe In Yourself Ok check this out This pretty much says it all. When you believe in yourself you will do what it takes to follow the steps to success, no matter the obstacles that may present themselves. 3. Select The Right Peer Group The people you hang out with go a long way to determining the way you climb the steps to success. Associating with people that are negative will lead to your downfall. If you want to achieve your goals, then you must be prepared to change the people you hang out with if they are not supportive of your goals. One negative person in your life can plant the seed of doubt in your mind, and often it is those closest to us that do this. On the other hand, surrounding yourself with success minded goal-achievers take you in the direction you want to go. 4. Have a Vision What do you want to achieve? Have you defined it? Think of it right now… Did you get a picture of what you want in your mind? It is vital that you have a picture in your mind of what you want. This is your vision. Having a vision is a powerful manifesting technique because as humans we think in pictures. As as Earl Nightingale said “man becomes what he thinks about most of the time” Summary Of The Steps To Success Now is the time to accept the challenge of becoming your ideal self. Develop courage by doing things outside your comfort zone that you normally wouldn’t do. You can do this when you believe in yourself and you have people around you that support you. And finally, always have a vision of what you want in your mind, as all the great teachers across the centuries have taught us…everything is created twice, first in our minds, and then in our physical reality. Go out there and make it happen!! Please share this article and leave me a comment below, I would love to hear from you.
7 Steps to Staying Positive I am sure you will agree that staying positive is one of the ingredients that must be added to the pot that the success stew is cooked in. Another way to define staying positive is being Optimistic. Research has shown that optimistic people don’t only take a favorable view of life in general, they are also happier, healthier, more successful (and wealthier) than pessimistic people… The good news is that optimism is a muscle that you can work out just like you would work out your bicep in the gym, the key to staying positive is to build up your optimism muscles by actual daily practice. Here are 7 steps you can follow: Step 1. Express Gratitude WOW… There it is again, I write about gratitude a lot don’t I? 🙂 Optimistic people show gratitude for even the smallest of things they received in life and that is part of staying positive. Be grateful for each breath you take, be grateful for the food you eat, be grateful that you pet is happy to see you, be grateful for everything! Being thankful for the smallest things in your life automatically makes the larger blessings so much better. Even when bad things happen optimists are grateful and look for the positive lesson or learning opportunity. Step 2. Contribute To Society One common habit of Optimists is that they give back to their society, and that is richly rewarding and leads to them staying positive about their lives. Helping others leads naturally to you being grateful for what you have, and can even help you through tough times. No matter what you are going through yourself you should always aim to be good to others in any way you can. Step 3. Show Genuine Interest in Others Hearing about the perseverance of others helps make you more optimistic. Most people have the feeling that the challenges they face is happening to them only, but when they hear stories about others overcoming similar struggles, then optimism is fostered. Showing a genuine interest in other people and how they overcome their difficulties develops your own optimism. Step 4. Associate with Like-Minded People As I have said before, you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. You know this, hanging out with negative pessimistic people is draining, while it is uplifting to hang out with positive people. As Olympic Gymnast Mary Lou Retton said “Optimism is a happiness magnet”. Staying positive become so much easier when being around people who are positive and upbeat about everything. Step 5. Ignore the Naysayers What other people do or say is a reflection of their own reality, and is none of your business. Optimistic people don’t take the opinions of others too seriously when those opinions are not aligned with theirs. Do not listening to the naysayers and dream stealers who tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams and goals. A key to staying positive is not to let anyone steal your dreams. Step 6. Be Forgiving This is probably easier said than done but optimists have the ability to forgive and forget and to move on. Festering resentment against others will not advance your optimism or happiness. What is in the past should stay in the past, make peace with it so it doesn’t spoil your present. Step 7. Smile Using you physiology is one of the “hidden” ways of staying positive. The way you hold your body can directly impact your emotions, and the easiest way to do this is to smile. Researchers have discovered that smiling releases serotonin, a hormone that contributes to the overall well-being and happiness of the individual. Try your own experiment; go stand in front of the mirror and smile the biggest cheesiest smile that you can. While smiling like that see if you can feel depressed…you can’t…go on give it a try. In Summary There are things that we can do in our lives that will build our optimism muscle and make us feel better. When we feel better, staying positive becomes so much easier. Now I am not saying that these are the only things you can do, there are many more that also give great results. Remember that staying positive wont necessarily make you do anything, but it will make everything you do better than when you are negative. So get out there, get in the optimism gym and practice some of these techniques to build up that optimism muscle. I would love to hear from you, please leave a comment below, and also please share this article so that you can spread the optimism around…
Its Monday…do you have the Monday blues? Are you having a bad day and it just keeps getting getting worse? Every now and again we can all have a bad day but we do NOT have to make a habit of having bad days. By thinking positive you can turn things around and make today, and every day, the ideal day you want and deserve The question is how do you do it? Its all about paying attention to what’s going on with your thinking…here are 10 ways of thinking positive that can turn today into an awesome day. Be Grateful, And Live In The Moment Know that your past is gone and it cannot be repeated. Understand that the future is not here yet (and it may not turn out exactly the way you anticipate). All that is a certainty right now is this very moment, appreciate and delight in what you have right now…because…you are alive!!!! Do Not Allow The ANTS To Roam Free While it may not feel like it, you do have control over every thought that you have. Many of us allow automatic negative thoughts (ANTS) to gather momentum and pull us down as the day goes on. Draw a line in the sand, do not allow negative thoughts to take hold. Be Grateful For Your Health You may notice a little theme in a lot of what I write about. That theme is gratitude, because it is truly one of the simplest paths to happiness. Be grateful for your body, be grateful for your healing, be grateful for your health. Every day you wake up this side of the dirt is a day to be grateful for. Honor Your Body Honor yourself by deciding to take care of your body, exercise so you can maintain your body as best you can. Taking control of every part of your life begins with taking control of the thoughts and decisions around your health and vitality. Apply The Golden Rule Treat others as you wish to be treated. This is the Golden Rule. If you want people to like you then show them the respect and love that they deserve, so they then in return show you the respect and love you deserve. Don’t Gossip Speaking about others in negative and jealous terms comes back to you in a negative way, thats just the way it works. A lot of people do not think about the negativity they create in their own life when they gossip. Write Down Your Goals Writing down what you want is one of the most powerful creative methods you can employ. Doing this sets you up for thinking positive thoughts because you will be focusing your attention on what you want. Be Humble Don’t let ego and hubris run away with you. Be confident in all your actions but don’t let arrogance get in your way. Make other people feel important. Provide Service To Others This is based on the basic principal that what you do to others will also be done to you, so serve others in the best way you can. You will be directly rewarded for the service you provide. Don’t Take Anything Personally Understand that if you get rejected today, it is just your ideas that are being rejected and not you personally. Focus on thinking positive thoughts and believing in yourself.
What Are Some Of The Key Success Factors In Life? I have always said that there is no “cookie cutter” recipe for success that everyone can follow, you have to find your own way. However there are some key success factors that have worked for other people, and you can mould and model them to make them work for you as well. While the following are certainly not the only key success factors, they are worth considering… 1. Hang Out With Successful People If you want to change the quality of your life overnight, change the quality of the people you hang out with. It has been said that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with, so this is one of the key success factors you should not ignore. Ask yourself who you spend most of your time with, if we become like the people we hang out with, what kind of people are you giving your valuable time to? Successful people surround themselves with other successful people. Surround yourself with the kind of people you want to become. Network with other successful people at conferences, mastermind groups, special events, training classes, and group coaching classes. 2. Money Makes You More Of Who You Really Are People make the mistake of thinking that money will make them happy. While money can buy some freedom it doesn’t make you happy on its own. True happiness (and success) is derived from filling your days with activities and meaningful pursuits that feed your inner passions. So one of the key success factors to consider is working on improving who you are on the inside. There are plenty of rich people who are miserable, and many people with lesser means who are perfectly happy, science has proven this. The truth is that you can decide to be happy now whether you have $10 in your pocket or $10 million in the bank. 3. Success Is a Journey Not a Destination Tony Robbins very famously once said “It’s not just about the goal. It’s all about evolving into the type of person capable of accomplishing the goal”. And I would guess that Tony Robbins knows a little about the subject of achieving success. Most self-made millionaires admit that it’s not all about making money; it’s more about the personal growth they experience while developing a business to where it’s finally making real money. They value the journey far more than the destination and have the habit of asking “What Do I Want?” followed by “Now What Needs To Be Done?” 4. Find A Mentor Another of the key success factors that I really believe in is having a mentor, this is a huge contributing factor to being successful. Success is a team sport and it is really tough to make it on your own. Just about everyone who achieves greatness would probably admit that they had a mentor who helped them get there. Find someone you look up to, someone who has achieved the type of success you want, and ask them if they would guide you on your journey. 5. Be A Constant Student When you look at successful person you’ll probably see someone who is a constant student and is always reading and learning something new. One of the key success factors is to be always growing, or else you will be dying. Thats just the way it is in nature. Leaders are readers and they they have the habit of educating themselves constantly with books, online courses, audiotapes, and seminars. They make sure they’re on top of the latest developments in their field, they are always learning new skills, they expand their minds constantly. The rewards for this are self-evident Summary There are many paths to success, and it up to you to choose the path that fits you. While doing this you can model what others have done before you, success leaves clues and in todays world of technology its becoming easier to follow these clues. I encourage you to enjoy your journey, don’t get caught up in arriving, let your goals and ideals be guiding stars that constantly move out ahead of you and encourage you learn and grow. I know you can create the life of your dreams. Please share this article and leave me a comment below, I would live to hear from you.
I have a BIG question for you today…What is Success? What is the true meaning of success? How do you measure it? How do you know when you have achieved it? Let’s explore this big question by pondering a few smaller questions shall we… Is Success Defined By How Much Money You Make? I used to believe that I could measure my success and self-worth by how much money I had, if only I was a millionaire, then my life would be perfect, then I would be able to declare myself successful!!! The truth is that when your only motivation is money you can lose focus on the things in life that really matter. Things like having a true sense of purpose that nurtures your psychological and spiritual well-being. While money is really important in today’s world, the bottom line is if you put all your focus is on acquiring money, you can feel very empty inside. Is Success Defined By a Job Title? It’s really easy to get caught up on what’s called the Hedonic Treadmill, that’s where you think the next big thing will make you successful, only to realize when you get there that it doesn’t, so you go after the next big thing…and the next… Part of this treadmill is believing extrinsic factors such as the next big promotion will finally stamp you with that elusive success title. I’ve chased the corporate job titles, and gotten them, but this perpetual treadmill just keeps going, it never stops, you are never satisfied with what you have achieved. This will go on indefinitely as long as you’re measuring your success by extrinsic factors such as fame, fortune, and power. Is Success To Be Achieved at The Expense of All Else? I have fallen into this trap, and believe me it caused me terrible pain (and the loss of an incredible woman). Trust me on this…it hurts. The truth of the matter is that we must learn to take time for ourselves, our families, and our close relationships. Professional athletes know how important it is to train intensely, but they also understand that without rest their bodies will fail them. Is Success Defined by Never Making a Mistake? Many people are paralyzed by the fear of failure. This often causes them to work for hours on very insignificant matters, they put in a lot of activity, but they accomplish nothing. Others fall into the procrastination trap where they avoid starting a task for fear they won’t do it well enough. Don’t think that to be successful you must be perfect, the result of that will be delaying publishing your book, giving that speech, or releasing that new product because you are constantly trying to make it perfect. In Summary What is success? Success is a beautiful sweet journey and not a destination. Success is the constant realization of a worthwhile dream. Success is not only based on your profits, but more importantly on the meaningful contribution you make serving your purpose in life. How do you use your unique gifts and talents in service to others? How do you contribute to making the world a better place? Success means knowing what is most valuable to you, it means knowing what your worthwhile dream is, and diligently, patiently, persistently, and playfully working toward it an a consistent day-to-day basis. So what is success to me? Here is how I define my own personal success; “Success is diligently working toward my big dreams by taking consistent, inspired, and measurable daily action towards my short term goals” There, that is it for me. It is not the outcome of the actions I take, because they vary, and if I don’t like the outcome I change the action. The success lies in taking the action every day!!! Time for a bit of introspection…What is success to you? How do you define success for yourself? Please share this article by clicking the share buttons below, and please leave a comment below…I would love to hear how you define your own success.
You’ve met people like this…they are self-assured and polished, and it oozes out of every pore when they speak. They have people in the palm of their hands and their bank account reflects the self confidence they carry around. They speak in calm, relaxed tones, they are classy, yet understated, just enough to garner the attention of everyone in the room. It’s not so much what say or how they look, its the entire package. These people seem to have something. But what is it exactly? What does someone with this type of personality have that inspires others? Is it the way they speak, or are they especially adroit socially? Is it the appealing image they project? Well, it’s all of the above, but really it comes down to that one essential success ingredient that super successful and wealthy people have… Confidence!!! So here are 7 steps to building self confidence: 1. Use Your Body Language We all have a vibe that we unconsciously convey to others. We may look people straight in the eye, or stare down at our shoes when talking. We may stand with our shoulders slumped, or up straight with shoulders squared. We may naturally smile openly, or adopt a sheepish shy look. All of these affect our image. Use your body to portray unbreakable self confidence 2. Be Convincing Speak in a way so that everyone easily understands your message self confident people can simplify a complex idea into language that’s easily understood. Never be in doubt when you speak (you can be wrong but don’t be in doubt) 3. Be Well Spoken Learn to easily articulate your ideas, become know as a well spoken person who has the innate ability to communicate easily and clearly with everyone. 4. Listen When Spoken To Being a good listener is an essential to being confident, self confident people don’t find it necessary to jump in and speak all the time. You have two ears and one mouth, use them proportionately. This is not often practiced and very rarely discussed, but confident individuals make those around them feel special because they are very good listeners. 5. Respect Others’ Time and Space Although this isn’t often discussed, the way people respect the temporal and spatial territories of others can make all the difference. In business (and even in your personal life) don’t ever be late…period!!! 6. Be Adaptable To Different Personalities Confident people build rapport with others by picking up on the personalities of those around them. They then adapt their behavior to create a sense of compatibility. Subtle techniques like matching and mirroring can be very effective. 7. Talk About Ideas (Not Other People) Confident people always have something interesting to say, otherwise no one would listen. So no matter how charming they are or how well they speak, they wouldn’t hold anyone’s attention for long if they didn’t have something of substance to talk about. Summary Building self confidence is essential to achieving success, especially for those in a position of leadership. This is because people have more expectations these days, and demand that those in power be a lot more than merely competent. We cannot admire someone who squirms, slouches, and doesn’t look us in the eye, or stumbles over their words. So build self confidence and build your success, because you will become a leader that others want to be associated with. Have you ever failed to achieve something because you were setting goals you could not achieve? I know I have… many times… and it made me feel bad!!! Like most other people I felt cheated when I failed in the past. I blamed other people, I made excuses. I found it difficult to look in the mirror when I failed, and I didn’t recognize the true source of my failure – setting goals I could never reach. Did you know that feeling really good (being happy) is a “forgotten ingredient” to being successful (and achieving all your goals)? I didn’t know that at first, but then my research led me to discover that setting goals (and achieving them) is something that happy people know how to do… The way you go about setting goals will make or break your success (and happiness). When setting goals there are 6 common destructive habits that we have been wrongly taught in the past. Which of these goal-destroying habits have kept you from success in the past? 1. Setting an Unreachable Desire Ok so there is the old saying that if you want to succeed, then you need to shoot for the stars. After all, aim for the stars and miss you’re bound to maybe hit the moon, right? You were taught that when setting goals you must challenge and frighten yourself. You might even have believed that a big, out-of-this-world goal would motivate you to succeed. Unfortunately, goals are only motivational if you really, genuinely believe that you can achieve them. When you are setting goals that you know deep down are impossible to achieve, you’re inviting stress, discouragement, and doubt into your life. You’re practically setting the scene for you not achieving your goals. 2. Desiring the Negative Aspect of What You Want “I don’t want any more debt.” “I’m getting rid of these love handles.” “I’m no longer going to neglect my wife.” Above are example of stating your desire in terms of the negative part of your goal. To get what you want in life you must be setting goals that totally focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. If you only focus on what you don’t want, then you’re actually creating more of that in your life, and you subconsciously undermining your own confidence. So, setting goals must be done in a way that focuses on a positive outcome or benefit, and that will help you with the achievement of what you want. 3. Blaming Others for Your Failure Hey it’s pretty natural that our reaction to failure is irresponsibility. And I get it! I’ve been there…Looking in the mirror when you fail is tough. Admitting that you’re 100% responsible for what happens in your life takes guts. Especially if you feel like a failure. But, guess what? It’s like your kindergarten teacher used to say – every time you point your finger at someone else, you point three fingers back at yourself. Avoiding responsibility won’t make your life any better; it only prolongs your suffering. 4. Procrastinating Procrastination borders on an epidemic in our society today. Just about everyone procrastinates. Or at least everyone around you procrastinates, right? Procrastination may be a pervasive and persistent problem, however it has a very simple solution. After all, the opposite of procrastination is taking action. Nothing complicated about that. So, if you want to stop procrastinating, start taking action. That should be that easy enough, right? But, where many people go wrong is that you can’t just take action once. You must build the habit of action taking. Trust me on this, once you cross the action-threshold it does get easier and easier every time. 5. Lack of Vision You can destroy your success if you don’t allow yourself to experience it ahead of time. Sure you wrote your goals down on a piece of paper, you placed them somewhere visible so you could remind yourself all the time. But if you didn’t take the time to visualize and feel the positive feelings of having achieved your success, then it may all be for naught. We all know our goals should motivate us but what most people miss is the visualization – living out every detail in your mind’s eye – this is an essential step to creating that motivation. Visualization is how you create the good feelings about your goal. Which brings us nicely to… 6. Feeling Bad Have you ever doubted your ability to achieve your goal? Have you been unsatisfied with your progress? Maybe your goal just didn’t make you feel happy. Either way, how you feel has a major impact on your success and productivity. Unfortunately, many people fail because they believe they cannot control their feelings, and your feelings determine your
